The Beginning
Lady Dianne's Began in l980 in Tulsa ,Oklahoma
My first showing was a Dog Show in April of l980 Tulsa,Ok. I had displays of oil rub-out paintings. The brown tones were a very popular style. The painting had to be done in one sitting as when the paint dried it was not workable.I would get all my snacks ready for the day and work straight thru ,usually the painting took l0 hours. This technique was the first stage of an oil painting which the masters used back in the medieval times.
My next show was in Houston. It was a 4 day show . That weekend everyone was leaving Houston because of the hurricane , so very few were there at one of the biggest dog shows of the year. At that show I sold my painting "Top of the Barrel" for $l,050.00. It is available in limited edition prints. A Basset Hound puppy see Art Gallery . I continued to travel the dog show circuit from coast to coast till our daughter Elizabeth was 8.
.
I raised Boxer Dogs for a short time and this is a painting of "Lady" & "Delight" her daughter.
